Title & Description on Upload

Am I missing something, or is there really no way to set the Title & Description fields during upload? I know there are a few different uploader options, but the one that is active in my gallery, just adds the filename.

This means that the users would always have to edit their photos after adding them, which really messes up my permissions structure, as users really only need to be able to add and not edit; but they have to edit in G3 if they can't create with Title/Description.

Thanks

Perhaps the http://codex.galleryproject.org/Gallery3:Modules:captionator would help?
The http://codex.galleryproject.org/Gallery3:Modules:remove_actions might help with removing actions from users.
This metrhod: http://codex.galleryproject.org/Gallery_3:Other_Clients:Gallery_3_REST_Client_(rWatcher) might help as well.

Also (just FYI), it's best practices to add the title and description directly to the image metadata before uploading the images to the Gallery; that allows Gallery to pick up on the info and display it automatically. Again, just FYI.

Do you have a link to a guide or something that explains how to do this? I can't seem to make it work with the metadata editors I've tried. Thanks!

Don't the editors you tried have docs?

I completely agree that it makes perfect sense to be able to set the Title and Description fields during upload. This should be incorporated into G3, not just a module as this feature is basic for most galleries out there. Request, please! (along with Rich Text Formatting options for Description!)
Thank you very much.

To me it also makes sense. I have been experiencing the same difficulties as fluke, that is, permission issues. I hope this is solved now. Thanks.

Sadly, this is the only reason why I haven't updated to version 3. It's an essential feature.

The way I see it could work is once a picture is uploaded the person is redirect to a screen that shows a thumbnail and a description field next to it that allows them to add a description. If they upload multiple pictures, they simply see a list.
Admin should have the option of setting description fields as optional.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't mind paying for a working plugin.
