Was working fine and now it won't launch.....
Upgraded to latest version of Java.
Won't launch from either my desktop shortcut or from the "add items" page.

You're talking about ancient technology. A couple of years ago the digital signature on the java app expired and we persuaded Bharat to renew, but now its simply outdated and in need of a major update.
Try upoladify instead.
