Uploaded Jpg pictures show up as .Gif Thumbnails

I've been using Gallery2 (2.2.5) for years.
Recently, the uploaded Jpg pictures started showing up as Thumbnails with a Gif extension. When hitting the .Gif Thumbnail, the picture shows up as a regular Jpg picture. What might have happened ? I've probably changed a setting without knowing so ?

Impossible.
Gallery2 only builds .jpg thumbnails and resizes, no matter if you uploaded a gif or not.

The gifs are actually placeholders to indicate that the thumbnails were not built for whatever reason.

The usual reason is that your host server was under strain at the time and the thumbnail creation process failed.

There is an option to rebuild them. Try this on an album by album basis as required.

Hi. I do appreciate your response. However, did you check my WEB ? www.arvidjensenphoto.com Then you would see, in the first 2 Albums, what I'm talking about. It's been working for so long, so what happened NOW ?

Hi. Appreciate your response. I just run the Gallery Maintenance - "Build all Thumbnails/resizes" Option.
The system checked 4662 items - 334 items failed.
I'll call the Server host tomorrow (ServeTheWorld). Hopefully they can give me an idea about what*s wrong.
