Hi there,

I have a domain name that I wish to use for me personal photography site - I think Gallery 3 looks ideal as I want to chose the theme for the site. I am really struggling to get anywhere installing Gallery 3 - I have set up an SQL database on my web hosting account but am now stuck. Is there an installer that will install it on the host that you want?

Sorry but I am not very good with databases and web programming.

Hopefully some nice person will be able to talk me through it and help me out.

Many thanks,

Paul

Check the documentation link in the top right of the forums. Quite a bit there to get you going.

HI thanks for the reply, like I said I am a real novice and I don't understand how to get it to work, I have read the documentation and I can't figure it out.

Sorry

Ask specific questions. What step don't you understand?

Does your host provide CPanel with automatic on click script installs?
eg : Look for softaculous in the Cpanel option usually at the bottom.
That makes install of Gallery simple for novices and much quicker for the more experienced and will do all the database set up for you automatically .
EDITED TO ADD:
It looks iike your domain is on Heart Internet and they do not use Cpanel but their own Control Panel however they do seem to list Gallery as a one click installer though it is listed as Gallery 2 , you could perhaps install that and upgrade to version 3 if they haven't updated it.

Just realised this is an old thread that was bumped up by that now deleted link spammer.
