CR2 raw files

Arrgh, some hints as to where to look here...
I have attempted to import my Gallery 2 site.
This has 19000 images. About 1k are JPGs, the rest are Canon RAW files.
The JPGs have imported 'ok'.

However the CR2s have been 'renamed' to GIFs, and don't display (well, it is the broken image gif).
Trying to use server add, the server says that it adds the image, but nothing happens.
Trying to upload the image using Add Photo, and it complains the image is too large.

The names of the files are CR2, but the Server Add still does not do anything. Is it likely that the Server Add can only handle small files (CR2s are 27MB on average)? (They upload to the server filesystem from the camera, then those that I wish to display are [were under G2] Server Add'ed to the Gallery).
Does Server Add support the creation of symbolic links like the G2 version, or is this a regression?

Any ideas on where I should start to look? If I am up to it, is there any appetite for a 'Create Link' option for server add (or should I just hack it for me).

No.
G3 is not a replacement for G2. The scope and features where trimmed down to have a smaller more manageable feature set and code bace. CR2 files where not a priority in the design.
You might have to play with the code to have CR2 files in the allowed file types.

Unfortunately I already have that installed, and DCRaw installed.

I think that the debugging etc. is a lot less available than it was in G2 too.

I'll have a trawl through the code.
