I noticed almost half of my main site visitors are via mobile.

Thank you Dave,

this is the solution I use, but this is not responsive, on the contrary.. it means we need two different themes to show our gallery depending on the device.

A responsive theme would be the same on all devices but change it's display depending on the screen size of the device ...

I did not say it was a responsive theme but posted it as a solution that would work with mobile as the original poster mentioned mobile visitors. And as you mention it is the solution you use.
Your welcome to contribute a responsive theme to the community or find a developer that can. The small dev team that we have can't so it all.
