500 Internal Server Problem after upgrading to PHP 5.3

Hello,

My host was on PHP 5.2.6 but moved to 5.3 recently and since then my website shows the "500 Internal Server Problem" error message.

I can't access admin, don't know what I could do via FTP or maybe the admin panel..

Was I even supposed to do smith about it ?

I wanted to upgrade via the upgraded, not manually, the server is in Switzerland and I am in China, it takes ages :-(

I guess I waited too long… or can I repair and then upgrade ?

There has been 1000s of changes since your version and some where to help with newer versions of PHP.
This was just one: https://github.com/gallery/gallery3/commit/6b306cddc1f25ecfe054b0a1c9d0dc3536da51f6 that you could see if it helps.

I know about slow connections but perhaps a trip to a good internet cafe would help for the upgrade.

btw my home connection is 20 time better than a Internet Café, it's just thant sending out of China via FTP that is soooo slow :-)
