Upgrade from 2.1.1?

I have an old 2.1.1 gallery which I would like to upgrade so I can import into Gallery 3.

I've installed Gallery 3 and tried to do import but end up with the blank screen. The FAQ says I need at least 2.3.2. I've found the faq for upgrading which suggest I have to do it in steps.

But when I follow the links for the downloads, it takes me to the sourceforge files area where I cannot find any 2.1.1 to xxx upgrade files (as suggested on the website).

Can I start with an install of 2.2.6 or ? I have lots of customization but am okay with writing it over. I mostly wish to save the gallery content itself.
