Is galleryproject still active or dead?

I am currently evaluation photo and video galleries and came across Gallery 3. Looks promising but last update is almost a year old and the last bugfix update is about 3 years old.
Is galleryproject still active or dead? E.g. are there bugfixing and new feature releases planned for the next months?
