Quick history, I installed Gallery about a year ago on our server 2008 machine and there was no problems with install. The folder that held the php files were in an external drive. Like so. E:/gallery3 The reason is because the external drive had alot more space. Well, a year later the drive crashes and i manage to retrive an old copy of the gallery php files from a backup i had done a few months back. But now when i try to upload pictures it will not generate the thumbnails. Old albulms still have thumgnails intact but new ones are not created. Any ideas.

Both GD and Image Magick are installed but neither generates the thumbnails. IIS_USSR has full permisions to the var directory so the full size images are there but thumbnails show up as broken images.

IIS_USSR?

First, make sure the new/restored system meets all of the requirements:
http://codex.galleryproject.org/Gallery3:Installation_on_Windows_Server_2008_and_IIS7

the full size images are there but thumbnails show up as broken images.
I'm assuming that you mean the resizes are being created, correct?
Are the thumbs being generated but not shown, or not generated at all?
Are the thumb folders being created at all?
Anything in the logs?

As a footnote, this should probably have been the "Unsupported servers" forum:

I see that you edited the original post, but I have no idea what you changed, so I obviously can't respond to whatever new information is there.
If you have new information, it's best not to edit the original post; add it as a new comment at the bottom of the thread.
Hope you get it sorted.
