.htaccess: php_value not allowed here

hi,
i can't access configuration guide. i get a 500 internal server error. when i looked at apache log i saw
[Fri Dec 26 08:53:19 2003] [alert] [client 127.0.0.1] /home/slava/public_html/gallery/setup/.htaccess: php_value not allowed here

i did follow the installation instructions and set all the right permissions
cd ...../gallery
sh ./configure.sh

Try deleting the .htaccess file in your setup/ dir.
