I made the file .htaacces but then when it comes to uploading it it just disapears and then its not found? why?

Give us your Gallery/webserver information to get a faster answer.
Get this information from the PHP diagnostic (in the configuration wizard).

Try not to make it... Anyway .htacces is automatically generated. After, you will be able to change it if you want.
If you do in this way you will see that .htacces is found by the configuration Wizard. However if you create it by yourself the configuration Wizard will not find it. Extrange but it is.

It said to make it on the documentation thing. Are you meant to make the other file too the one that ends in .php?

I encountered the same problem. there is a post around here on this issue. is the servers that dont show a file that has a .htaacces termination. What I did id this:

-created a file called htaacces.txt
-loaded on the server
-cmod it to what is requested
-rename it .htaacces

It will disappear but is IS still there to serve its purpose

;)
