Trying to use the Win version of remote. Gallery is installed on an SME-Server (modifed Redhat). But I can't seem to login to even fetch albums to post images.

All I get is 'invalid login information'. I've tried using the admin account, a user account (that I added to Gallery) and even the root account.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I assume that you can log into gallery using a web-browser on the same machine . What version of GR are you using? There are known problems with the 1.0preview and the first couple of betas. They could express them with this error. Also what version of gallery are you running, on what webserver/php?

Thanks for the reply.

Yes - I can login/edit just fine using a browser. I'm using Gallery 1.3.1 and the 1.0 Preview of Remote. My server is running Apache 1.3.22 and php 4.1.2.

Thanks!

Okay then, grab a recent beta .zip file off of http://jpmullan.com/galleryupdates/ and unzip it ontop of your 1.0 preview distribution. It will replace files. You can find more information on this in other threads on this forum.

Well THAT'S weird -

I grabbed the last 2 Betas and figured that since I was on the T1 at work, I'd go ahead and grab the 1.0 Preview that has the Java Runtime included.

Got home, went to uninstall the existing 1.0 Preview, got an error that it couldn't uninstall it. Installed the 1.0 Preview WITH the Java over top of the existing one, and lo and behold, it works now...

Go Figure.

Thanks for the help though.

It's really great to see other users offering great and to the point advice! Thanks jsteinhu.

The problem in 1.0 preview is that some things didn't work with Java 1.3. Installing the build that comes with a VM (1.4) fixes this, as do newer betas.
