The database capabilities of Gallery are great. However the navigation controls - the arrows and the page controls, etc - are very busy and not easy to use. Physical location of controls: They don't remain in the same absolution browser window coordinate location from page to page since their location depend on the size of the image being viewed, etc. Other gallery software - Shutterfly, Yahoo pictures - keep the controls in the same absolute location so you can keep clicking in the same place to move from page to page. With Gallery you need to search for the controls to click on them. The controls don't allow for direct access to a given page or image number. You need to sometimes multiply-click through multiple lists of page lists as the number of pages show is limited to a sliding window. Has anyone done modifications to make Gallery navigation more straightforward or easier? |

The two files to customize are navigator.inc and navphoto.inc found in the layout folder of Gallery. Check out the customization forum for other tips, I wrote up a tutorial to break out some of the code.
