Help with the migration module

In addition to your regular testing and great suggestions, I could use some sample text in various languages for testing - but I would need this entered into the captions and descriptions of a G1 album that you would send to me (after warning me first).

What is really important is multi-byte characters in various character sets.

Here are instructions for what I need:
1) Create a new top-level album in your G1 gallery
2) Put this image into your new album: http://gallery.menalto.com/themes/g2/images/head_left.gif
3) Give it a caption that includes
the character set of your gallery and the language code,
the english words "Hello World",
the name of your language in English,
the name of your language in your language,
"Hello World" translated into your language,
about 32 more characters of your language, saying something nice that you would say in public in front of your grandmother
4) Send me the url to your new G1 album via email so I can check it out. I will then email you asking for a zip or gzip of that album

Your G1 character set and language choice should be listed in meta tags in your G1 gallery (if you have a recent version), so you can find them by viewing the source of your gallery pages.

i could spend some time next week for a little testing, but i guess you don't need a german/french character-set user, do you?

The only one that I don't need is UTF-8, since that won't require any conversion.

I need G1 sample data. Was that confusing? I changed my post to be more overt.

I don't mean to be a pain about this, but this is fairly critical to getting the migration module done, which is fairly critical to getting G2 into alpha.

jmullan, I know! But, I'm in the process of switching my linux box, so after that, you can get all the data you want in norwegian.

I have thus far received ZERO submissions. That means that there will be NO support of alternate character sets for migration. All migrations will be assumed to be in ISO-8859-1!

This is only a warning.

That's all I use. Except for what ever stuff some of the user's of my G1 install have used. But you've handled that very nicely IMO.

I somehow missed this request (I know, it's a bad excuse!) But I am getting the same problems as jnc (here http://gallery.menalto.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=18360 ) so I got to this link. Lapinoo, it looks like I misplaced your file. Could you zip or gzip that sample album and send it to me again, with "French migration" in the subject?

plex, although I have been to your gallery (did you read my post about your missing avis?), I don't recognize your language offhand.

You can find your character set in mozilla/firefox or IE in similar ways:
mozilla: MENU: View/Character Coding
firefox: MENU: View/Character Encoding
IE: MENU: View/Encoding

If you upgrade your G1 to the latest release and choose your language, the character set and language should show up in meta tags on your page.

You could aslo ask that question here:

And hopefully one of the translators will be able to help you out.
