Slideshow Module still appears even after it is disabled

I have disabled slideshow - yet in the Hybrid theme - it is always on the sidebar.

The hybrid layout is actually a blend of a regular layout and a slideshow. So if you use it, you can't disable the slideshow component (unless we extend the hybrid layout to give you a choice in the matter).

Exactly.. by deactivating the slideshow module you remove the "slideshow" option in the album actions and item actions lists. Hybrid theme has its own built-in slideshow.
