Make first page bkg color diff. from album pages

I'm making this site for my brother-in-law,

and he wants the first page to have a black bkg, and the following pages to have a white bkg.
That part is a little bit beyond me. Can anyone be of assistance.
Also if that is not possible, how do you get rid of those anoying black lines, or rules?
