a hack/mod to user-less(password only) privacy?

is there a hack that would allow me to make some albums visible to anyone who can supply a password, without actually have to have a user account for them and have to log in?

like when someone tries to viw an album a page comes up saying these albums are private, please provide a password, and anyone that i give that link to and the password can go inside
