I don't think anybody said anything useful yet. Have you read the sticky thread in this forum?

Yes I think I read the stickies are there more? I only saw 3.

unlike this user I could upload images but I was still getting the "Error:Server contacted, but Gallery not found at this URL(http:.......)

At first I didnt see this error. It wasnt until I had accessed several different directories to upload these files. I think because Gallery refrences itself in each of these directories that it may just be confused. Currently I can only not upload Flash files. But at one point I was having trouble getting any to upload I reconfigured and am now uploading jpegs and gifs.

OK, so with the Applet, you can upload everything but Flash. Can you upload Flash with the Form mode?

I'm trying to figure out if the problem is with the PHP server code or the Java Applet code.

My question is: when you log in to your Gallery, go into an album and select 'add photos', can you upload Flash files using the Form mode?

In the 'add photos' window, there are tabs along the top. Form is one, Applet is another and there are others beside.

All,

I get the same error:
Error:Server contacted, but Gallery not found at this URL(http://www.dave-inter.net/gallery/gallery_remote2.php)

Gallery version: 1.4.3
Server OS: Mac OS X Server 10.3.3
Apache/1.3.29
PHP version: 4.3.2

Gallery remote: 1.4.3 on WinXP

On the setup page I get the following errors:
Apache is not obeying your .htaccess file.
Either mod_rewrite is not installed or your .htaccess .....

It looks to me as though the error occours when the second page is being created, i.e. when you have more then 9 images.

Could it be to do with these errors? I tried to solve the .htaccess problem but not yet successfull.

It may... So, can you upload pictures to the same album you're getting the error with GR, using the Form upload?

Btw, there is no 1.4.3 version of GR...

It's really weird.

If I try to add an unique 10th photo to an album it fails. (After upload, during server processing)

If however I add a photo for a second time it works fine and I get a second page.

Changed the settings on the server to 4 colums/ 9 rows. Deleted all my albums. Created a new on. Still the same error when processing the 10th image.

Same problem here!
A solution would be nice ;).

I'm using Gallery 1.4.3 and GalleryRemote 1.3.2.

Whenever I try to upload the tenth file i get the message:
Server contacted, but Gallery not found at URL (.....)

hi.. i m havin the same problem also.. thru some trial and error i have figured out that GR for some reason fails to upload the pictures if they are more than 2mbs... if its less than 2 mb's its fine.. mite have to change the ocnfiguration is some of the php files somewhere.. i m not too well versed in it to figure out which one.. but anybody agree that ONLY if its more than 2mb's this problem occurs..??/

and if this is the diagnostic.. anybody know how to resolve it..???

thx..

It defdinately looks like a problem to do with the filesize of the original images.

My 10th picuture was 3.5MB after resizing all my pictures I can upload them without any problem. Will look at the answer from joel558.

The size issue very well maybe part of it, however my images are rarely over a megabyte and the ones Im having the most trouble with are only 8k....

OK I figured out the form mode is not an option of the Gallery Remote but rather an option of the Gallery itself. But when I try to upload my tiny little falsh files I get this error:

Processing status...

- Adding bannerupdate_inlinefla.swf
   Resizing/compressing original image
Cannot resize/compress this filetype
Warning: copy(/images/movie.thumb.jpg): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /Library/WebServer/Documents/gallery/platform/fs_unix.php on line 26

so um its a resize issue like I thought but Im not sure what to do about it....

h2gallery, no thats not the issue. The issue you are seeing now, is that the path for the default movie thumbnail is wrong. Either re-run the config wizard and specify the full path, or upgrade to 1.4.3pl1 and check the path after.

Gallery does not process movie files, but allows you to upload them and display a static predefined thumbnail for all movies.
