How is Java Fullscreen Slideshow on System Resources?

I haven't installed the newest version of Gallery yet, but I love the look of the new Java fullscreen slideshow thingy. Recently, I read about another image gallery proggie that had a similar thingy. The problem with it was that it ate up system resources when viewed by IE, the browser most people use. Here is the thread that references that problem:

My question is, does Gallery's thingy do the same thing? I haven't been able to locate an updated image gallery with a sufficient amount of images to test this out. Anyone know if this could be a future problem for me?
