I finished translating gallary old version 1.4.3 and my site needed to upgrade to 1.4.4, can I use translated items and add any new strings for v1.4.4
and is there any tool to help me,
and how can i send you my translated files ?

Hello,
yes, you can reuse translations from older versions. But you need to adjust them.
Good Tools are KBabel from the KDE Suite on *nix Systems.
Or poEdit >=1.3.1 for Windows Systems.
I suggest you just send your .po files to me, then i will adjust them and you can continue working on it.

I also have a problem with characterset
so when i made it as Unicode It does not appear well in the site
so Iuse arabic character set wich is windows-1256
I plain to to translate also G2 to arabic, would u adjuct it to continue translating it to both versions, 1.4.4 and 2 ????

Hi,
can you explain me how arabic handles Plurals ?
e.g. in english or german we have a Singular and Plural.
0 cars
1 car
2 cars
..... cars
so we have 2 forms.
turkish or hungarian dont have a special plural
say would say
0 "car"
1 "car"
2 "car"
...
russian have 4 different forms ....
how is it handled in your language ?

arabic translations needs some changes with nls.php
align = "right"
direction = "rtl"
and characterset = "windows-1256"
i will send files by mail next time.
about Plurals, in arabic, it is diffcult rule and it depends on the type of the Singular word
would you mind send me these words and i will send you back thier Plurals.
is it poissible????

i already did this ;) But i used Charset ISO-8859-6
i also added a flag ;)

About the plurals, currently i used the english way.
You can not do this according to words. You can only do this by the count of values used.

Hello Jens,
where is ar_EG translation version for Gallery v1.4.3, it has not a link in ur website and gallery v1.4.3 language packs????
Can I support both encodes windows-1256 and iso-8859-6???
let's say there are two different folders inside locle, one to support windows-1256 and the other to support iso-8859-6.
working goes on in v1.4.4 translation.

i dont support 1.4.3 langpacks anymore.
Well, you could support both encoding, but i suggest only to support iso-8859-6 or utf8.
But thats your choice, because you will have the double work.

I've found the arabic language pack version 1.4.4 on sourceforge is empty!

For the others... there is currently no maintainer for this or any other arabic langpack
