"Error reading from socket"?

Hi there,

I'm just about to try G2 and it is finally installed now. I migrated a couple of
images, for fooling around, and now the whole thing stopped working. What
I get is (from Links): "Error loading http://www.schwarzschmid.de/gallery/main.php: Error reading from socket".

Could this be related to my changing some of the global settings?

UPDATE: Changed all settings back to what they were (to the best of my knowledge), no change. When I try through Squid, I get "While trying to retrieve the URL: [no URL] The following error was encountered: Zero Sized Reply Squid did not receive any data for this request. "

It takes about 15 seconds after clicking "Browse Gallery" on the admin panel for this error message to appear.

rapha, I tried a few variations of the url you provided above but couldn't find your G2 install. I haven't seen this problem before; it's unclear to me if it's an issue with Squid or something else. Can you try disabling Squid for that url to see if that fixes the problem? Can you also provide us with the url so that we can try it out ourselves? Also, please enable the "buffered" debug mode in config.php as that'll provide a little more useful info for us. Thanks!

Well, Squid is enabled at work and I can't disable it. But as I wrote above, I also tried using Links through SSH and got "Error reading from socket". That's without proxy. The URL is http://schwarzschmid.de/gallery/main.php, and I just double-checked that. You can of course not connect because of the problem . Setting debug to 'buffered' didn't help that, either.

Can I do anything else to help you get a more sensible diagnose on this?

I just tried the 2004-06-04 snapshot (where you also changed the password stuff) and
everything works like a charm now. D'oh.
