Can I assume that the Edit Permissions section is not fully working? If it is, can someone explain the relationship between the "group permissions" as defined in the permissions section compared to the "Group Management" section. Thank you |

It is fully functional now, though the user interface leaves much to be desired. Our UI guys have not yet had a chance to go through that page and redesign it so you're stuck with whatever crappy interface I can come up with. They'll get to it soon.
Sure. You can assign users to groups, and you can assign permissions to groups. This lets you simplify your permission setup. You can create a group (MyFamily) then set permissions for your albums such that only that group can see a chunk of your gallery by adding permissions only for that group (eg, add the core.view permission for the PrivateFamily album to the MyFamily group). Then you can add users to the group (eg, add UncleJoe to the MyFamily group). If you decide you don't want UncleJoe to see those albums anymore, you can remove him from the group instead of having to remove him from every album one at a time.

Hi,
another permission question: I want everybody to see part A of my albums and a special user that logs in to see only part B (but not part A). Is it possible in G2 to give access to albums to EVERYBODY except a special user/group?

That's not particularly easy, unfortunately. You can't remove a user from the "everybody" group (else it wouldn't be everybody, right?) so what you'd have to do is create a second group that had everybody but the special user in it and grant that group permission to see A and B, then grant the special user privileges only to see part B.
The problem with this solution is that you have to keep this new group up to date when you add new users :-/.
