When submitting a problem report to the support forums, there are a number of things which will make answering your question easier on all of us. (We won't have to re-request information, and it will go a lot faster.)
0. Understand that everyone who answers questions in the forums are volunteers.
We do not get paid for providing our time or experience to you. This means that we do not watch the forums at all times, so sometimes it can take 24-48 hours for someone with the proper expertise to respond to your question. If you haven't gotten a response in 48 hours, feel free to bump your post by replying to it. This will ensure that we see you still haven't gotten an answer. In the same vein, if you are rude to the volunteers, they do not have to answer at all.
1. Read the Requirements, Documentation and FAQ
Please read all of the available documentation before submitting an issue. Many times your answer can be located by just looking at one of these two pages. In the FAQ, sometimes error messages are not identical.. keep an eye out for similar looking problems. (Key words like 'Permission Denied', etc.)
2. Do not add your problem report to someone else's thread.
This will slow down our ability to respond to you because the post my get lost, and the information that we request will probably not be added to your reply.
3. If you're seeing an error message, include the entire output from the error, not just the message by itself, or your summary of what it said.
4. Completely fill out the information form in your new post.
The information form:
Quote:
Give us your Gallery/webserver information to get a faster answer.
Get this information from the PHP diagnostic (in the configuration wizard).
Gallery URL (optional but very useful):
Gallery version:
Apache version:
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please):
Graphics Toolkit:
Operating system:
Web browser/version (if applicable):
What a filled out form should look like:

In frustration, I would like to add to this:
From now on, I refuse to answer any posts that does not have the information form filled.
It's getting tired, real fast, to time and time again have to ask for the information that you are initially asked to fill out. There is a reason for the questions, and it does help us help you. If you don't fill it out, I'll regard that as an incomplete post and disregard it.

I would also like to add something:
Please use a "speaking threadname".
Bad: "PLEASE HELP ME!
Good: "Error: Userfile not writeable"
SuperBad: "Gallery Problem"
Good: "'Add photos' via URL causes fatal error"
Bad: "Manage Users: Where?" (because you didnt really looked around in your Gallery)
Good: "When i am logged in i cant manage users"
