OK, I have no idea about this one.... I got this windows computer that I have to use every once in awhile. Using the applets included with the latest release of gallery.

Here is my problem
When I try to upload images with the windows computer using the same jre release that I have on linux... It transfers at a small fraction of what it does under linux, and the GUI/Swing is pretty laggy to what is sort of going on behind the scenes. Eventually it will just sort of 'freeze' with whatever it is doing and never finish.

With linux it works awsome any way you throw something at it. This normally isn't a problem for me since I mainly dump images from my camera on my main box (linux) and use it to transfer acrost the network to the server. But the windows one just doesn't seem to work right which is strange to me, and probably pretty annoying to windows users.

Any ideas?

All I can tell you is that on most users' machines, GR is about as fast on comparable hardware under Linux and Windows. Java may be slower on your Windows machine because of driver problems, not enough memory, fragmented hard drive, etc.
