G2 and Mambo status?

Just wanted to know if it is possible to use G2 inside of Mambo? :o

not yet, no1 tried to integrate it. bharat just started to look into details of integration of G2 with CMS generally. i'm sure there will be a mambo integration, but it may take some time.

we're still working on getting G2 ready for integrations, no CMS integration is finished. But if a mambo developer wants to start a mambo integration, we'd happy if he'd get in touch with us.

I have spread the word of Menalto Gallery a little in Switzerland.

I hope that soon a developer will get in touch with the Menalto Developers.

Please check THIS LINK frequently. It is german, but since Valiant is from Zurich it should not be a problem....

rastamate, someone in the thread you're linking to wrote that it doesn't make much sense to integrate G2 alpha with mambo. I would agree, if integrating G2 meant to change G2 code to make it fit into mambo, changing core code etc,
But our integration works not like this.
We give CMS integrators an entry point to G2 with the GalleryEmbed class in embed.php and the whole G2 API. You write the integration once (a mambo module) and as this interface to G2, the GalleryEmbed class, won't change drastically, your integration will work with all versions of G2.

Bottom line: Integrating G2 in mambo is not writing a fork of G2. If you can find an interested mambo developer, we can guide him how to use the GalleryEmbed class and the G2 API.

I'm no wiz with the stuff all I want is G2 to work like my G1 does - the accounts are tied together with XML with my mambo, gallery, and forum

so I am not looking for any "new" technology - just want it to work like G1 does - is anyone doing this yet??

BrandonDMiller, see the sticky topic about embedding, the topic about "cms integration" and my previous posts in this topic.
G2 is ready for integration with mambo, but a developer who knows mambo a little has to write some mambo code, a module I suppose, to integrate it.

I don't know how the G1 mambo integration works, what XML (the markup language?) has to do with it. G2 embedding works almost certainly a little different than G1.

I wrote a Shoutbox Module.. took an existing Shoutbox from php.. and wrote myself a module to integrate it into Mambo.. works flawlessly.

Where is the G2 Integration stuff? Where do I find it? If I had that info.. I could try to start writing a module. I don't promise anything, but it's worth a shot no?
