Wondered which forum... it's not troubleshooting, it's not customisation per se; so I thought of it as a Suggestion;~)
G1.4.4 has successfully changed 8000+ images' intermediate/resizes due to my having installed all albums into 12 gallery top-level *categories* under which all the subalbums inherit appropriate properties. So all it took was 12 sets of properties' amendments and a bit of server hammering.
Rather less easily accomplished was the change of their thumbnails, but I understand that wider reaching recursion is on the cards in the near-ish future.
Been wholly foxed by what to do with the legacy full sized images... some 7000 off 500pix images that now ought to be no more than 300px. Certainly it would make a difference in handling and transmission logistics. Reloading from scratch *IS* possible but would take up quite time as the sort order was/is customised. Not to mention the loss of all the built up click counts.
So... it's a suggestion. May we have a control for the arbitrary downsizing of the original fullsize images (destructively of course) and preferably recursively... or is that last bit over the top;~)
best wishes, Robert
