Feature request: Send an authenticated album link to friends

Hi

I was wondering if a feature exists that will allow users to email friends with a link to their album(s). Ideally this link has some level of authentication so the invited guests do not have to log on or register.

Is this possible in Gallery? If not, I'm going to try and develop this feature myself, so is there anyone who can point me in the right direction?

Any similar scripts, etc. that I can hack and integrate with gallery?
