Is this issue solved ? I'm using Gallery 1.4.1 but I plan to upgrade to 1.4.4 ... I hope I won't need to erase block-random.cache anymore in the future ;)
I don't even seem to have a block-random.cache or randomblock.dat anywhere. I had to manually edit the nuke_gallery_random_cache database table in my PostNuke intallation to reflect the correct numbers of photos in an album in order for it to work again.

That isn't a random block that's provided by Gallery. No Gallery 1 software uses databases, except to look up users inside CMSes.

I'm using Joerg's random block for Gallery. I"m still getting the same errors though.
