Delete subalbums before galleradd.pl runs?

Sorry if this has been asked before. Using galleradd.pl to load up my gallery. I'm maintaining the TOP albums as permanent. Is there already some code to add to the script that will delete existing albums (except the top ones) and thus make "reloading" over and over again possible? Or is there an existing gallery code/hack/whatever that I can call to delete sub-albums nicely so that my galleryadd.pl script can load into an empty set of top albums?
