Violation of GPL?

Hi,
I found this site: http://www.eshirt.it/gallery/
It's not showing the "powered by Gallery..." message. Well, actually it's shown and commented out in the page source!
Is it legal?

Yes, thats perfectly legal. The GPL allows changing whatever they like in the source files, only limitation is that if they distribute derivative work, that has to follow the GPL as well.

Really? I thought it was under GPL. I know phpBB says so. But it is only if you want support.

Well, I quess not but it's being cheap trying not to give credit back for a good free software.

Can't say good yet, b/c mine is still not working. but it looks good.
