If the forums are going to be as busy as the mailing lists - and I see no reason why they wouldn't be - it would be nice to see separate forums for configuring Gallery on Windows vs *nix. That would really separate the discussions out and allow people like me to focus on non-Windows issues.

I'm a bit worried about having too many forums -- it'll make it hard to find information cause you'll have to trawl through lots of forums. Even now having a separate "installation" and "troubleshooting" forums seems like too much. But if there's a big enough demand for it...

I support wilts suggestion regarding separation of linux and windows installation of gallery. At least you isolate one action of not asking what OS installed to the system.
