Hi there,

I have made a simple bridge script so gallery 2 will work in Postnuke, it's pretty quick and dirty, without user integration, but it doesn't touch the core files so people can upgrade easily...

When G2 comes stable I maybe interested in integrating it with postnuke.

More Info here

Kindest regards,
Lobos

I'd be very happy to show you how to integrate G2 with postnuke with all features (user integration, etc.).
I've almost finished a xaraya integration and postnuke is quite identical to xaraya.

And your preliminary integration looks quite good, kudos!

Thanks, I will be ok though - I know how to do it, but I am waiting for gallery2 to stabalise a bit more.

Did you touch any core gallery files?

Regards

No, you don't have to edit any G2 files. All G2 integrations use embed.php and it's functions/methods.

As soon as I've updated my xaraya integration, I'll post a link to the xaraya module files.

Meanwhile check out http://nei.ch/test/gallery2.tar.gz to get an idea how to use embed.php.
and read docs/EMBEDDING in your G2 dir. and the short descriptions in embed.php are not that bad either.

valiant: I see from the cms development thread that you are vastly more versed in making gallery 2 work with the CMS code - in fact it is a bit over my level

I made that conversion script using cURL to fetch the gallery html and then performed some changes to the urls with reg expressions, the trouble is it is sometimes loading VERY slowly 6-10 seconds; I think it is problems with server or Curl, I don't know :(

from looking at your xaraya site, I am very impressed by your work - and envious that we don't have a working version for our postnuke project. I also need this solution for the stopkillingchildren website...

Anyway would you be interested in giving this a try, it can only be good for gallery as there are thousands of POstnuke users ;)

Thanks

I hope to get some time finishing my xaraya module and write some good step by step docs and offer my guidance, and I'm quite sure that this will be sufficient help to get other integrations done.
Especially pn module integration should be straight forward. AFAIK xaraya has almost the same structure as pn (it's a pn fork).

I recently settled on Xaraya after an extensive search of a CMS that would meet my needs. I'm grateful that valiant has taken on the project of integrating it with G2 and eagerly await the results.

Realizing that there ARE some differences between the POSTNUKE and PHPNUKE worlds...would it be fair to assume that a PHPNUKE module is coming as well?

i guess the differences between phpnuke and xaraya are too big (fork of fork) to affirm something like that.
but after xaraya and postnuke, perhaps we will find someone who ports the postnuke integration to phpnuke, who knows.

Thank you valiant for your great xaraya embed code! Very nice. :)

I took it and forked off an PostNuke integration:
http://gallery.menalto.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&p=111733#111733

I'm sure someone will be able to do it also for PHPNuke with your xaraya code as the base, but don't ask. It will not be me! ;)
