Hi there...

Since some days, I try to use this great gallerysoftware, but I have a (big??) problem, I already asked my webhoster for...

I'm not able to upload photos - I can make albums, users and everything else! Diagnostics says, everything is fine - no problems...

BUT... While uploading, this message appears:

Processing status...

- Adding Fritz_Bischof.jpg
Resizing/compressing original image
No resizing required
Warning: exec(): Bad shell command ['/usr/bin/jpegtopnm' --quiet '/usr/ioengine/www/sites/master/www/site431/web/gallery/albums/TVM-Start/Fritz_Bischof.jpg' | '/usr/bin/pnmscale' --quiet -xysize 150 150 | '/usr/bin/pnmtojpeg' --quiet --quality=90 > '/usr/ioengine/www/sites/master/www/site431/web/gallery/albums/TVM-Start/Fritz_Bischof.thumb.jpg'] in /usr/ioengine/www/sites/master/www/site431/web/gallery/platform/fs_unix.php on line 34

My webhoster told me, that there are no known problems with their tools yet. :o

Some more infos:
gallery-url: www.tv-mahndorf.de/gallery
gallery-vers: v1.4.4-pl4
apache: Apache/1.3.29 (Unix)

OS: Linux server30.matrix2.de 2.4.28-grsec (??)
Browser: IE 6.0.29... (SP 2)
----

Thank you for any help......

And your host has no restrictions in place that hinders executable files being run from a PHP script?

Hi,
I had the same problem, the only way to solve it was to use version 1.41, -1.42 and higher apparently has some kind of bug that causes this error, in some enviroments.

@ h0bbel:

Well, it took some time, but I got an answer... In his oppinion, there are no restricitions, but he'll search again... (why can't I believe.......)

@ nepo77:

Where can I get "older" versions from? which files do I have to replace??

Thanks again!! :)

Franky_HB,
If exec were disabled the installation wizard would display that.
You can find different versions here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=7130
But it seems 1.41 isnt availabale anymore, you might want to try 2.0 Alpha 4 in a seperate Installation.

Are you sure that "/usr/bin/jpegtopnm" is where that command is? It sounds like something as simple as NetPBM or IM not being where you think it is. Could you try uploading NetPBM in your own web site's dir somewhere and pointing gallery to it?
