Gallery Remote has made it much easier for me to create and manage by album directories. I would like to be able to do the local server directory "upload" using it so I don't have to switch back and forth between GR to create the albums (since it it much easier) and the web page to add the pictures.

You mean uploading a whole directory hierarchy at once, with an album for each directory? I believe there's a patch out somewhere that does this, based on a Perl script. We'll try to get around to doing that too, but there's already an acceptable solution.

That script no longer works with the latest version of gallery.
