phpbb2 integration. permissions question.

alright, i posted this in a very old thread. im going to make a specific one for this.

now i do not have a freshly installed forum. and i have installed a new forum since the original installion of gallery. is there a simple how to on this somewhere? is there a simple process on doing this even. i'm minorly proficient with coding, but nothing that requires hacks, work arounds, or anything not readily documented. i've seen the howto.txt in the contrib folder, but it was not overly helpful.

after the integration, you can only view the gallery from the forum? that doesn't exactly make sense, but is that true?

if i missed a generic easy to read install on the process, i truly apologize. i tried reading through this thread, and tried the search button. any help? also, if 2.0.11 won't integrate with 1.4.4-pl2, is there a way to upgrade the gallery software without losing my albums and skin?

now a moderator was helpful enough to point me in the right direction, and to tell me what to do. what pops into mind now though, is, if i put permissions to an album (or sub-album for that matter) is there a way that i can make that album specific to a particular member? or does it have permissions to anyone thats logged in? (ex. i create a nested album for user 1, and a seperate album for user 2, would they both have permissions for eachothers albums?)

and logged in, does that mean they're currently logged into the forum, or that they're login credentials will work for the gallery, same as they would for the forum?

i appreciate this help a ton.
