[SOLVED] Unable to login

When trying to login to my gallery as a user I enter the username and password in the popup box, submit the form and the window goes away. But the nav bar still only shows the login options. The only way I can 'login' is to login to the configuration wizard and then close out.

Any ideas? I even tried re-running the wizard.

Gallery version: 1/4/4-pl4
Apache version: Apache/1.3.31
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please): PHP v4.3.10
Graphics Toolkit: NetPBM
Operating system: Red Hat Linux 7.3 2.96-110
