Anyone know why that file is missing in the tarball?

You're not giving us much to go on here. It's pretty unlikely that file is missing from the tarball. Make sure you unpacked it correctly, read the FAQ, etc.

under the modules directory, there is no core directory, there is a dir named cart, but that is it.

Did you do anything bharat asked you to? Did you re-extract from the tar ball? Did you download a slightly newer (or older) nightly build to see what was up? Another option would be to use CVS. Keep the info coming. Under the "modules" dir there is indeed a "core" as well as a "comment" directory... so it sounds like you are simply missing files.

Good luck.

Fry, I went and downloaded the zip and it had all the files, I don't know, I used Winace for both the zip and rar tarball, maybe it was the software, but it works alright now, thanks for the help.
