I installed g2a4 on linux/i686 account.

all seemed ok. went to siteadmin/modules and started the installation process for the graphics toolkit, which got a little problematic.

anyways, decided to reinstall galler2a.

first problem I encountered was deleting the g2data/ directory, since I didn't have the permissions or sudo permissions.

I then went on to mv g2data g2dataold, which seemed to work.

reinstalled galler2a4 this time from the downloaded release (last time was cvs). It seemed that gallery installer still has information kept somewhere which it reloads into the installer. Authentication for example was complete without me copying the Auth-code into the .txt file etc...same with the rest of it.

But the installation went fine (asked to redo the db setup, storage setup etc.)

Only the thumbnailmanager module was reported as not being able to activate.

pressed the button to proceed to gallery/admin and <site.com>/main.php nothing shows up.

Trying going directly to admin got this error:

Quote:
Error (ERROR_PERMISSION_DENIED):
in file modules/core/classes/helpers/GalleryUserHelper_medium.class at line 207 (gallerystatus::error)
in file modules/core/classes/GalleryCoreApi.class at line 386 (galleryuserhelper_medium::assertsiteadministrator)
in file modules/core/SiteAdmin.inc at line 46 (gallerycoreapi::assertuserissiteadministrator)
in file modules/core/classes/GalleryView.class at line 244 (siteadminview::loadtemplate)
in file main.php at line 312 (siteadminview::doloadtemplate)
in file main.php at line 47
in file main.php at line 40

Logging injust gives a blank page again.

maybe ill try nuking it.

thanks for the help.

Hm. Two things. You should stick with the latest nightlies - they're much better than A4. And it sounds like you had an installer session hanging around when you started the new installer run which is worrisome -- we do cache data from the last run and that may have interfered.

The thumbnail manager problem is definitely an A4 issue that's fixed in the nightlies. Try a completely clean nightly install and let us know how that goes.
