OK, that's great. Thanks for your help so far I downloaded the latest current.gallery2.zip and installed that. But, after going through all the setup (which failed to install comments and members for some reason, but I thought maybe that wasn't crucial) I now get: Fatal error: requireonce(): Failed opening required '/pub/home/woozle91/htdocs/gallery2/modules/core/classes/../../../themes//theme.inc' (include_path='.:/usr/local/share/pear') in /pub/home/woozle91/htdocs/gallery2/modules/core/classes/GalleryCoreApi.class on line 2318 when I try to go into g2. The "themes" bit looks a bit funny to me...? Rob |

It looks like your theme name isn't set properly, which is very very unusual for a clean install. Since you had problems during the install and I know from another post that you're upgrading from a pre-existing install, I suspect that the install/upgrade did not go correctly.
I'd start all over again with a clean install (delete your database and g2data directory) and make sure that you click the "start over" button in the installer and make sure that you have a successful install. The comments and members modules should definitely not fail to activate during the installer since they have no external dependencies so if they fail then it's symptomatic of some deeper issue that we should resolve.

ah... yes, I didn't delete the g2data directory. I cleared out the database and got rid of the gallery files themselves, just not the data directory. I'll give that a go.
