If I upload unmodified photos (i.e. as saved by my Camera), the EXIF information is correctly shown in Gallery. However, if I make modifications (using Photoshop, or PhotoImpact), and then upload them, the EXIF information isn't displayed, even though EXIF information is still saved (which you can check by downloading the full-sized file).

Example URLs:

Unmodified photo:

Modified photo:
http://www.steadfamily.com/gallery/main.php/view/tobago/underwater/res1335372426_001.jpg?g2_imageViewsIndex=2

(BTW, A useful tool for viewing the EXIF within IE or Firefox is ViewEXIF - see http://ak.no-ip.com/EXIF/index_en.htm)

If anyone can tell me why this is happening, and suggest a solution, I'd be very grateful!

Neil.

yup, I just noticed this recently. the exifer library used by G2 recognizes the "JFIF" format that photoshop uses to store EXIF data, but it does not read it. :(
please file a bug for this on sourceforge.. thanks.

Hmmm, I don't seem to have this problem with my G2 install (snapshot from 18/3 2005).

All the uploaded jpeg's saved with Photoshop CS shows the correct EXIF.

BTW: It is files as bug [1110114] and is still open.

Well, there is no bug (at least not for me) with Photoshop CS. And I believe that it a big plus for the serious photographers out there considering a move to G2. :)
