CVS error updating

running
cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/gallery checkout gallery2
gives me the following error
cvs [update aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if any)

Keep trying. CVS is being a little flaky, but it'll work eventually.

CVS kept asking for a password, to I kept hitting enter with blank pw.
But that resulted in access denied.
