This is the first program I have use (tried to use) CVS with.
I am running Windows Server 2k3 and using WinCVS 1.2
I downloaded the entire G2 package from the CVS and got it running. In Wincvs, the directory folder has a check on it, indicating it is recognized as a CVS folder. I right click and choose update selection...
It all seems to work with the scrolling text at the bottom saying it is updating the various modules and files. then exits sucessfully with a code of 0.
Today, I updated (I thought) and then installed G2 on a new machine and noticed a few new features plus the version numbers of items are newer than in my 'updated' install. I clicked all through my original install to see if I would get any upgrade or update messages and am not.
What am I doing wrong? It is my own server, I have full access, I read through the CVS instructions and appear to be doing exactly what I need to be doing. Am a touch confused...
Cheers
Greg

Try browsing to gallery2/upgrade and going throuhg the steps there. It should let you upgrade any modules that were changed when you did your cvs update. Does that look right to you?
Also in WinCVS make sure you check the "get new directories from the repository" checkbox so that it downloads new directories in CVS that aren't in your local workspace, that way you'll get any new modules that we've created.

Ok, I feel like a crack head.I just updated with CVS this evening and it worked as stated. My best guess is that my original download from CVS was not as it should have been.
