Unable to change default language, gettext is ok

More or less what subject says.
I've already searched the forum, upgraded gallery to the latest nightly build and so on, with no success.
As you can see in my phpinfo, it seems gettext is properly configured.

ilruffo, when you say 'unable' what exactly happens? Are you trying to change the language in Site Admin or in Your Account? Do you get an error or the screens just remain English?

I have heard that this may be an issue with your locales not being setup correctly.
