Gallery Failure after install

I tried a complete refresh today, deleting everything on my server and in the database. I installed the latest alpha and nighlty build. After the config, I keep getting this error:

Warning: requireonce(/var/www/domains/x.gwyn.net/docs/gallery2/modules/core/classes/../../../themes//theme.inc): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /var/www/domains/x.gwyn.net/docs/gallery2/modules/core/classes/GalleryCoreApi.class on line 2355

That's pretty odd. it looks like no theme was set. We've done some work on this recently though -- can you try again with the latest nightly?

This is an unrelated problem, but with the same result.

I just tried installing the 2005-02-22 build on my server. I ran through the installer with no significant hitches. Step 2 did give me a "Warning" about the following files being modified even though it was a fresh installation:
install/steps/StorageSetupStep.class
lib/javascript/AutoComplete.js
modules/archiveupload/classes/ArchiveUploadHelper.class
modules/core/ShowItem.inc
modules/core/classes/GalleryLayout.class
modules/core/classes/GalleryPlugin.class
modules/ffmpeg/module.inc
modules/imageframe/templates/ImageFrameStyle.tpl
modules/imagemagick/module.inc
modules/netpbm/module.inc
modules/randomhighlight/RandomHighlightOption.inc
...randomhighlight/test/phpunit/RandomHighlightOptionTest.class
modules/zipcart/module.inc
layouts/classic/layout.inc
layouts/matrix/layout.inc

Also, in the Install Modules step, it wasn't able to install the Thumbnail Manager (no reason given).

At the end of the installation, it sent me to the upgrade directory and walked me through upgrading from 0.8 to 0.8.15. I did that without any problems.

But finally, after all that, going to the gallery/main.php page only resulted in a blank HTML file.

What's wrong? I've tried reinstalling twice.
