styles/css float

i'm trying to change the styles on randomblock.

how do i use the span tag to adjust the styles? :-?

also, when i wrap my php include in span tags i can't get the random block to float properly in ie for mac.

it works properly in firefox and safari... what's up with explorer? does anyone have a fix? i realize that this is probably a question best directed towards another web community... figured that i'd give it a shot.
