G1 vs G2?

hi all,

I've just stumbled across Gallery, and am wondering what the big difference (in a nutshell!) is between G1 and G2. For someone new with website design (i'm using Frontpage) which would you recommend using?

Any advice is appreciated!

cool, thanks. so if i read that right it means that i should NOT install G2 and use it as my main Gallery.... I'd be better off using G1 and waiting for the complete upgrade?

that's our official position, yes.. G2 is very close to beta, however. for a new install for personal use it might be ok to use G2 now or soon.. you have to make your own decision based on the support info in the README, of course..
