LOGGEDIN is NOT enough - any ideas?

So far, I've gotten everything else in Gallery working like I need.

Here is my issue.

I'm using Gallery 1.4.4 within Mambo 4.5.1a. I'm customizing my Mambo installation to add an additional (paid) user group.

Just using LOGGEDIN is simply not enough for my purposes (as I want to restrict certain galleries to paid members only). I need something more like:

If LOGGEDIN and ISPAID

I would go with G2, but it's not yet ready for a production enviornment. Also, I have seen the G1 groups patch. I do not have command line acces with my host, so I cannot apply this patch easily (and it's too complicated to do by hand - at least for me :cry. And, simply manually adding individual users as they sign up just isn't feasible (people expect instant access when they pay - at least the average person does).

Given that G1 does not use data tables, what is the best solution for this problem?
