After successfully installing and running gallery, I attempted to import a gallery 1.x album from another directory on the same host. The progress page shows the first file (or album name) and does not progress any farther.
I tried reducing the number of imported files down to 1 album with the same result. The album is created but none of the photos are transferred.
No error messages.

Gallery 2 beta1
php 4.3.8
apache 2.0.5
Suse Linux 9.2
Firefox 1.0

I noticed that the permissions on the g2data album are 777 but in the individual albums the permissions are 755. I don't think this is a problem because one photo was written.
I can't change the permissions (owned by the apache process I guess) and the cleanup script doesn't work for G2.

efedora, you are simply running out of allocated memory during migration. By switching to netpbm I was somehow able to make it through a few images during a migration, but we are starting out very close to the 16M php setting so there isn't much room to grow.

I would recommend bumping it up to 32M for your migration and then scaling back afterwards. I would have tried that myself, but I don't think that I had root access.

Hello all,

I experienced this with my G1 --> G2 migration but would like to know where to change this setting...? Is this the php upload limitation or some other php memory setting...?

Thanks,
Jim
