hi guys i have a gallery which has substantial amount of my own hacks, just to clean things up to how i want it etc. Im prepared, and have always "rehacked" my own gallery each time an upgrade comes out. Can someone please tell me if ; 1) i can upgrade from pl2 direct to the latest pl6 ? (note : upgrade, not fresh install.) 2) Which files have been patched from pl2 to pl6. I find often its just one of the php files and therefore can minimise the work I need to do to rehack. 3) What security risks are there in pl2. gallery specific, or host OS specific. (this changes how i address other gallery's hosted.) if the risk is not high or global, i may wait till 1.5 official release. Thanks guys !! |

The best way of going from one customized version to the newer version is with diff. Make a patch that is a clean version of yours -> latest clean version, then apply that patch to your gallery. Chances are very good it will apply cleanly.
